Against the Current

She walks a hidden path
Along walls
Against the Current
Like the salmon fish
And the current hits her face
Beats her fears
And she continues
because you need
Because you have to
She will take an
Handbag,
Identification,
Credit Card
and her first - poem book
(maybe there will be someone who will listen)
She arrives early
Grabbing a corner next to a wall
Close to the exit door
she will listen
And they will not ask
Later
She will go all the way back
along walls,
In hidden ways
with the current.
The way back is
easier.
