Poem by Ana Toma
The Barefoot Dance Two little feet and the Midnight Moon
A gorgeous lady with long black curly hair
Stunning brown eyes and a killer smile
Dancing under the roof of the sky.
Music in her ears, a long velvet red dress
The elegant movements of two soft hands
reaching out to the shining stars.
The Barefoot Dance, on the cold asphalt.
Two heavy feet and the Midnight Moon
A gentleman smoking a cigar
His head full of grays, wearing a black suit
Swaggering under her sky.
He passes by, stops, and gazes at her dance moves
Smiles at her: “Were you once my wife?
I've lived this moment, and I know that perfume.
The Barefoot Dance was her only dream”.
