SPRING, PASSOVER, EASTER
                                                 

The bridge between death
and return to life
is full of spring sights.
From the unexpected lightning
to the wind that comes back
with swallows and colorful sky
giving flowers to the gardens
there is a dream flowing
waiting for a chance
to stay forever.
Hope roars and echoes
in joy and happiness.
The lily of Easter and Passover
becomes Spring incarnation
in the eyes of the one who
dares to love.

WOMAN INTERNATIONAL DAY
For the Girl in Maldives

You are only fifteen
and you are already a woman
raped by your stepfather
and by the authorities
of the Sharia law.
You are a victim because
you are a woman,
you were born in a country
without a culture of justice,
without respect for human rights.
Your sentence of 100 whippings
and eight months of house arrest
is an enormous crime
against all of the women
in the world.
When will the people
of Maldives see the light
of a progressive humanity
and respect their women?


METEORITES

We are meteorites
infinitely small, fragile,
which have been
stranded on Earth.
We got the human form
in flesh and bone,
and we are more precious
than gold, crystal or a rose.
Because we came
from the sky,
some day we will return
to the universe
splendid and powerful
like reconstructed
meteorites.

EARTH  DAY
         
The Earth
is an enormous home,
strong and renewable
where our dreams
and our utopia survive.
The Earth is recycled
as we are, beings
who live on the surface,
underground,
or in the cosmic space.
Viva the Earth
for the infinite treasure
it gives us!
Hurrah for everybody's Earth
and for the everyday Earth!

The symbol of courage
that stays firm
in our souls since
the terrorist attack in New York
is not hatred,
It is not vengeance,
It is not the bombing
of innocent people
in other countries,
It is not the pride of being
citizens of the most rich
and powerful country
in the world.
It is the conviction that
only hope for justice,
and belief in equality and
universal solidarity
work in opposition
to patriotic hate.
Someday we will make
simple humanitarian love
our first welcome wish
to all dissidents of our
politics of power.
